Valorization of mineral reserves

Turning the past into opportunities.
Valorization of mineral reserves

Description

chrysotile mining, over a period of more than 100 years, has produced millions of tonnes of ore reserves that contain several minerals, mainly magnesium and nickel, which are included in the list of critical minerals of canada and the United States.

valorisation-img
We safely transform the liabilities of another era into a new source of wealth for future generations. Tailing piles have a great economic advantage for their recovery: indeed, all the primary costs of mining, grinding and processing have already been amortized. Following the principles of the circular economy, these tailing piles rich in strategic minerals will allow a second eco-responsible transformation.

Uses of
products derived from our minerals

From fertilizers to magnesium and nickel derivatives to steel transformation, infinite possibilities are available to our partners to develop our ore reserves.

Antacid Treatment

Our ore contains magnesium oxide that is used in the manufacture of treatment to relieve stomach upset.

Steel Processing

Magnesium oxide-based additive improves the quality of various steels and alloys.

Fertilizer

The magnesium oxide contained in our minerals can be used to manufacture certain high value-added fertilizers.

Refractory Products

Magnesium oxide can also be used in the manufacture of flame retardants.

CO2 Capture

Use of our ultramafic ores naturally sequesters CO2.

Nickel

The nickel contained in our piles can be used for multiple purposes including the manufacture of batteries for the electrification of transport.

Other Metals and Minerals

Our reserves, as shown in the following table, contain several other metals.
